Information

Let’s celebrate spring and the beginning of our new season.

Three days full of flowers, honey, and wood, in the surroundings of Studio ALTA. Close your eyes and listen. Hear the buzzing, don’t you? One by one, start collecting plant specimens for your herbarium for the new year. Dance with the bushes. You’re shivering like a leaf! So join us once again by the campfire. The scent of wood, the warmth of the campfire and the sun, and maybe even a brief spring storm. The new season in Libeň is here!

Three days full of dance, learning, and contemplating. One of which is a public holiday. Take a break, stop by Studio ALTA.

For the performance on 08.05.2024 / 18:00  we offer free babysitting (childcare) as part of the initiative Parent-Friendly Culture – more info below.

Bees: an interactive art-theatre installation exploring the fascinating world of a honey bee community.

Sun, Earth, water, wind, landscape, stones, plants, animals, people, bees, a tent, a beehive, a jar of jam, honey…..

A honey bee colony as a single being. A shared space, voice, visual experiences, and various creative processes. Let’s try to see what it would be like if we perceived ourselves as part of an enormous superorganism, which could be the entire planet Earth or even the entire universe? How long it will take is entirely up to you.

Matěj Dědek: Prorostliny / workshop

We would like to invite adults and children to explore the realm of plants found around Studio ALTA.

Discover the specific plants that inhabit our space. Let’s look closer at each as a botanical specimen and discuss the best way to identify it, but let’s also think about our personal relationship with them, for it is no less important to know how each plant affects us, whether we like it or dislike it. Together we will then draw a herbarium with notes including our findings, which will remain at Studio ALTA as a record of the spring afternoon we spend together.

What to bring: awareness of your allergies to grasses and other ‘friends’ and your willingness to look down into the lawn and up into the treetops.

TS Light: Dřevo na smetaně

An interactive family programme celebrating the rarity of wood and the importance of bushes (especially in dance) as well as the anniversary of Bedřich Smetana, which will soften the world’s ecological crisis.

Dance Studio Light is a bit of a legend in its own right. It focuses on works for children and teenagers, which nevertheless also entertain and educate adults and makes them laugh and think. The ensemble was founded and is led by Lenka Tretigová, who has discovered a unique way to work with children, so that they can enjoy it while acquiring values important for development of their personality, relationships, their life. Dance Studio Light straddles the line between the amateur and professional worlds. It is a true generational organism where care, communication, creativity, freedom, and topics important to all of us intertwine.

WED 08.05.2024 / 18:00 – 19:00

Martina Hajdyla, Eliška Brtnická, Jana Stárková: TREMULA / *PF (Parent Friendly)

You need to rest. Stay in place for a while. Where just a moment ago the fire was burning, now it is still. The bodies are exhausted, time has slowed. Rest at last. But how long can it be sustained? In Tremula, the artist Eliška Brtnická and the dancer Martina Hajdyla meet on stage for the first time. Together with director Jana Stárková, they search for the intersections of their artistic approaches in pure physicality, which they further develop in collaboration with composer Ian Mikyska and visual artist Pavel Havrda.

For the performance on 08.05.2024 / 18:00 /we offer free babysitting (childcare) as part of our accessibility program. It’s important to us to have people with diverse life experiences in the audience, and we know that access to live culture is often complicated for parents of young children. In the frame of Parent-Friendly Cultureprogram, we strive to break down, at least in part, the complex barriers we have in our society, allowing parents an uninterrupted theatrical experience and direct participation in cultural events.
If you are interested in the childcare program, please fill out the simple entry form (it requires the purchase of a ticket for the performance).
